11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. (Ephesians 6:11-12)
When I awoke on the morning after the election, I decided to stay away for a bit from looking on social networking or any of the various news websites. Once I did, one of the first Facebook status updates I saw came from the “I’m With Bibi Netanyahu” page. It consisted of just two words; “What now?” No doubt that Bibi was wondering that himself, but so were many evangelical, born again Christians. I noticed a lot of shell shock from the results. I saw a lot of finger pointing at what people perceived to have gone wrong. I saw many who were confused. Many had no idea how to react to the results or what was next for us under another four years of the president.
Then I saw something concerning the reactions. It came from a pastor in Texas who had sent it to his friends. One of those who received it was my Christian brother and friend August Rosado. He posted it on Facebook:
Final Results of the election are in:
Marijuana legalized,
Gay marriage institutionalized,
Christians criticized,
Healthcare socialized,
National debt super-sized,
Founding Fathers demoralized,
The future is compromised,
America is desensitized,
Abortion is justified,
Liberals satisfied,
I am mystified,
My family is petrified.
All true statements to be sure. However, we have been sliding down this path for fifty years, not just the last few days since the election. Remember the words of Christ when He spoke of the last days:
9 “Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name. 10 At that time many will fall away and will betray one another and hate one another. 11 Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many. 12 Because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will grow cold. (Matthew 24:9-12)
Also remember the Holy Spirit inspired words of Paul:
21 For even though they knew God, they did not [a]honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and [b]crawling creatures. 24 Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. (Romans 1:21-24)
Do not these two passages accurately represent what is going on the United States and the rest of the world today? To deny this is true is to be blinded to the Truth. The relevance to this current generation is very real. This country is spiraling out of control, running from the Truth that is Christ. Is it any wonder the election results were what they were?
Various popular Christian leaders, pastors and authors have given their views on the election results in the past week. The day after the election, Dr. Franklin Graham appeared on CNN. He believes the results of the election put America on a path of destruction.”(Christian Post, November 7, 2012,

)
Dr. Robert Jefferss, pastor of First Baptist Church in Dallas, said that the re-election of Obama “would lead to the rise of the Antichrist.” He went on to say “President Obama is not the Antichrist. But what I am saying is this: the course he is choosing to lead our nation is paving the way for the future reign of the Antichrist.”(Christian Post, November 8, 2012,

)
Hal Lindsey, in his weekly email to his readership wrote: This administration has expressed almost unprecedented hostility toward Israel, traditional marriage, gun owners, small business owners and entrepreneurs, corporations, the energy industry, pro-lifers, and Christian institutions. And now that the President doesn’t have to worry about facing another election, who knows how that hostility will be expressed. Hal continued: I have long said that there is no nation resembling America described by the Bible prophets in these last days. That means that the US must decline from its current preeminence and be crippled or destroyed by a catastrophic economic collapse or some sort of debilitating attack. I fear that now we are on the fast track to that disaster. But even if Governor Romney had been elected, I don’t believe it would have stopped America’s slide — perhaps just slowed it a bit. Hal Lindsey went further on his television program “The Hal Lindsey Report,” which aired on November 9, 10 and 11.
He said that we are now in the fifth stage of judgment from God. To back up his point, he quoted Romans: 28 And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper,(Romans 1:28) He further went on to claim that the sixth stage is destruction. Any rational Christian with eyes open can see that this is case. God is judging us over many things: abortion, homosexuality, our treatment of Israel and more. These will be discussed in parts two through four of this article. Suffice to say, America is dying. Yes, it has been long before Barack Hussein Obama was born, but now, the pedal is to the floor, accelerating faster each day.
Another reaction was sent to Ken Silva of Apprising Ministries. It is quite interesting. I will here share just the author’s number one reason:
I am thankful that President Obama won re-election for the following reasons:
1. If Romney had won it would have masked the real moral and spiritual condition of our nation. I’m afraid that many Christians would have equated a Romney win with spiritual renewal. But if he had won, it would not have been because he took the moral high ground – it would have been solely because of the economy.
As it is, by voting for Obama, Americans have revealed what is most important to them – gay marriage and abortion on demand. That is the true condition of our nation.
Those who know me will know that I’ve said all along that neither Obama nor Romney would fix this country; that America will continue to decline whoever would have won. Obama would just take us down quicker. Yes, I agree with the reactions from Dr. Graham, Dr. Jefferss, Hal Lindsey and with author of “I am thankful that President Obama won re-election for the following reasons.”
There are more I could quote, but these suffice for now. Obviously, all of these reactions will be ridiculed in the most offensive ways by the robot left outside of the Church. The problem though is that born again, evangelical Christians also voted for this agenda. That is a HUGE problem. If capital “C” Christians are finding nothing wrong with abortion, the redefinition of marriage, the homosexual agenda and the survival of Israel, then we are in very deep trouble, for the secular, humanist, atheist, and small “c” Christian left are not going to let go of their agenda. And once Obama is able to pick more Supreme Court justices, things won’t be pretty for those of us who hold onto the fact that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God.
17 But you, beloved, ought to remember the words that were spoken beforehand by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, 18
that they were saying to you, “In the last time there will be mockers, following after their own ungodly lusts.” 19 These are the ones who cause divisions, worldly-minded, devoid of the Spirit. (Jude 1:17-19) We know the end. We know that life is and will be full of tribulation, and, that it will only get worse just prior to the return of Christ for His Church.
Remember this: 19 The Lord has established His throne in the heavens, And His sovereignty rules over all(Psalm 103:19). God is and always will be in control. As long as we as Christians remember and believe that Truth, no one can defeat us.
In the coming days and week or so, the rest of this article will be published in this order:
Part 2: Abortion
Part 3: The attempts to redefine marriage and the homosexual agenda
Part 4: The biggest loser in the election and the biggest winner: Israel and Iran.
Until then, God bless all of you and keep you at peace. Maranatha!

Wow. Amen, Hallelujah, Maranatha, Come Lord Jesus!
I, too, was seriously dismayed over the election results. It took me a few days and two of my own blog posts to come back to the focus needed now: Jesus Christ and His soon coming and His provision for us during difficult times. Thanks for your encouragement, too.
blessings,
Phyllis
